Ironing - machines with pressing action only for treating cuffs. - In a cuff - pressing machine, the cuff support, mounted on a rocking arm to enable it to be withdrawn from beneath the fixed pressing - head, is provided with guiding - means so that it always maintains a parallel relation with the head. As shown in the duplex machine illustrated, the support 4 is pivoted on a member 20, which is adjustably mounted on a rocking arm 10 connected with the treadle mechanism. An arm 24 projecting from the support has a roller engaging a slot 29, 30 in a fixed plate 27. To prevent tilting of the support when pressed upwards, lugs 31, 32 and a fixed stop 33 are provided.
