Abstract

17,525. Payne, F. R. Aug. 1. Invalids' bedsteads; bedstead adjustments. -A bedstead for invalids comprises a main frame mounted on folding legs 2 having struts 3, and is provided with adjustable head and foot sections 17, 18. The head and foot sections carry lugs 22 supporting cross-rods 23, to which are secured strips 26 carrying yokes 27, in which are pivoted nuts 28. Hangers 7 beneath the bedstead support bars 6, on which are upturned bearings 10 for shafts 11. A crosspiece 8 supports a boxing 12, in which the other ends of the shafts 11 and shafts 13 are journaled. The shafts 13 are rotated by a winch handle and carry gear-wheels 15 meshing with wheels 14 on the shafts 11. The frame is adapted to be placed on an ordinary bedstead frame when the legs are folded.
