Abstract

Folding bedsteads and cots.-A folding bedstead or cot comprises s i d e members 23, 25 pivoted to short intermediate sections and supported by pivoted legs 33, which are connected to the opposite side member by links 39, 41. Head and foot frames 93 are pivoted at 94 to brackets 95, and are connected by links 98 with the legs 33 sn that, when folded, the parts take up the position shown in Fig. 4. In a modification, a single head member is pivoted directly to the frame and connected to the legs by links so that when the bed is folded it is moved into the plane of the frame. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (alpha) describes also forms in which the head and foot frames are omitted and also a modification in which the side members, instead of being connected by a fixed cross-piece. are connected by pairs of linked knuckle-jointed stays which are held against collapse by knuckle - jointed corner stays so that the arrangement folds into a more or less linear form. This subject - matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
