Closed solid-fuel stoves; drought, regulating. -The draught in continuous-burning, and particularly anthracite, stoves is regulated by allowing air to pass to the chimney without traversing the fire or ash-pit, the quantity of air thus passing being controlled by the means regulating the flow of air through the fire. Fig. 1 shows a stove with passages M connecting air ports B at the base of the stove to ports M<1> leading to a flue M<2> and the chimney M<3>. These ports are controlled by valves E mounted in pockets L and guides C, and operated by tails I on the lower edge of the ash-pit door J, so that when the door is closed or opened, the valves E are opened or closed. Air enters the pockets L through apertures at the sides of the base A.
