Abstract
10,145. Ibach, R. April 26. Slide valves.-Steam is admitted to the cylinder after cut-off at the main ports a by longer auxiliary ports b, which are controlled by the same gear as the main ports, and communicate with ports in the cylinder covered by the piston k at the ends of the strokes. In the form shown, the main and auxiliary ports are controlled by a common slide valve, the auxiliary ports b being opened sooner and closed later than the main ports.
