Abstract

Cylinders, heating.-In engines using superheated steam in which the supply is passed through the cylinder covers, the throttle valve is arranged between the cylinder covers and the valve-chest to enable full-pressure steam to have continual access to the covers. In a modification of the arrangement shown, the cylinder covers are connected to the ends of the valvechest by two passages provided with simultaneously-operated valves.
