10,132. Craggs, R. V. April 26. Filling pulverulent materials into receptacles. - Relates to hoppers for feeding granular and pulverulent materials to weighing and filling apparatus. A rocking shaft a is mounted in a tapering hopper c, and carries arms b on which are pivoted frames d carrying bars or slats e. The shaft is rocked to prevent bridging of the material, which i s further agitated by a revolving stirrer g. When there is more than one outlet to the hopper, a worm screw i, rotating alternately in opposite directions, is provided. In a modification, the worm is replaced by a cylindrical member g<1>, Fig. 4, having teeth g<2> which pass between plates g<3> and register with each opening. Each opening may be provided with a rotary agitator q.
