8681. Bloxam, A. G., [Sulzer, Geb.]. April 7. [Addition to 12,213/09.] Fluid governors; fluid relays.-In governors for steam engines and turbines as described in the parent Specification, the turbine-driven centrifugal pump B supplies fluid under pressure to the distributing-valve C which is loaded by two springs; one F<1> bears on a plate G connected to a lever L, which is supported by a link M and the piston-rod N of the relay piston E, the compression of the spring depending on the position of the piston E. The compression of the second spring F<2> varies only while the governing is being effected; it bears on a piston H which has passages l permitting a flow of oil to and from the chamber J between the piston H and plate G, so as to maintain the pressure in this chamber constant. Oil under pressure is supplied from the pipe p, and escapes from the chamber J, through the passages l and a passage a in the plate G.
