Abstract

7772. Winckler, A., and Winckler, C. May 4, 1910, [Convention date]. Gravity meters &c.-In an apparatus for delivering measured quantities of a reagent for purifying water or otherwise treating liquids, the water is measured by a rotating vessel 4 and delivered to a compartment. The vessel 4, which is mounted on a hollow axle 6 and balanced by a weighted paddle 15, is formed with an overflow 8<b>, by which the water may pass to a chamber 9 formed by a curved plate 10. The water is delivered from the pipe 12 to a funnel 13, which is attached to the hollow axle 6 and moves in a side compartment. When the water flows into the chamber 9, the vessel 4 overbalances and delivers the water to the central compartment, being returned when empty by the weighted paddle 15 to its initial position. As the vessel is turning, the water from the pipe 12 passes into the side compartment; or a tap on the pipe 12 may be shut when the funnel 13 is moved.
