Abstract

30,174. Strange, W. H. Jan. 7, [Convention date]. Polishing-machines.-Comprises a floor-scrubbing and polishing machine of the kind described in Specification 3891/08, in which a rotary head 18 is driven by an electric motor 1 having a vertical shaft, through pinions 8, 9 and a toothed ring 13 formed on the inside of the head. The head is shown fitted with a brush 19 for scrubbing purposes. The electric wire leads to the motor are arranged in the hollow handle 3 of the machine. The head rotates on ball bearings 16, and is prevented from falling away from the base-plate 2 by rollers 14 carried by a flanged part of the baseplate.
