Abstract

29,941. Kunkel, F. R. Dec. 29, 1909, [Convention date]. Cores for the field magnets of fan motors and other small machines are constructed of a series of similar flat castings 6 spaced apart for ventilation by registering projections and recesses and bolted between recessed end-frames 3, 4. Each of the castings 6 is provided with a frustoconical projection 7, a raised boss 8, and a trapezoidal projection 9; the outer edges are preferably rounded. The bolts 16 extend loosely through holes 17 in the projections, and carry nuts 15, 18. Thick sheet-iron punchings may be used in place of castings.
