Combined open fire-places and cooking-stoves. -A combination open fire-place and cooking- range, in which the oven is in the adjoining room to that heated by the open fire, is arranged so that the fire in the grate a acts directly upon one side of the oven b, while the products of combustion pass from the fire to a flue c<1> below the oven, up the flue c<2> on the further side, and finally through the flue c<3> over the top of the oven into the flue of the living-room fire-place, by way of the flue c<4>. A boiler e may be built behind the fire-grate, there being preferably a damper f to control the boiler flue. A damper g controls the oven flue. A hinged lift-bar d may be provided to support a kettle &c. over the fire, and the oven may have a gas-heated griller.
