Rotary stirrers. - In mixing-machines of the t y p e in which the beaters are carried by a hanger which is slotted to permit its being placed over a driving- head, and in which an annular projection on the hanger engages with an annular groove in the head carrying the beaters, the journal opening in the hanger is provided with a lining, preferably integral with the annular projection. In Fig. 3, a denotes the hanger, d<1> the annular projection, d the lining, which is cut through to pass the driving-head, and e the beater head.
