Abstract

18,511. Morton, J. W. Aug. 5. [Cognate Application, 1655/11.] Rotary stirrers.-Relates to apparatus with rotary beaters carried by a removable frame in the container, and consists in means for connecting the beaters to the driving-spindle, and of improvements in the screw that holds the frame in place. The spindle g is formed with a circular collar j which projects into a corresponding recess in the boss of the beaters e, the two being connected in the usual way by a projection on the spindle fitting into a corresponding slot in the boss. The screw p that holds the frame c, d in place is formed with a circular head o which fits into a slot in the frame c, d. When the screw p is withdrawn, the head o fits into a socket in the plate q in which the screw p works. The head o prevents the screw p from being completely withdrawn. Instead of engaging with a slot in the frame c, d, the head o may be pointed and enter a recess in the frame.
