Abstract
20,131. Salessky, W. P. Aug. 29. Sulphuric acid.-Nitrous sulphuric acid obtained in the lead-chamber process is denitrated by the action of air in the absence of sulphur dioxide. The denitration may be effected in the ordinary Glover tower, and the gases obtained mixed with the gases from the pyrites furnaces in their direct passage to the chambers. Sufficient air should be used to effect as complete as possible an oxidation of the separated nitrogen oxides, so as to assist the chambers.
