Mountings.-Relates to worm gearing, for use with guns, of the kind in which the worm is carried in an eccentric bush for the purpose of adjusting it for wear, and consists in mounting the worm freely on a shaft provided with eccentric journals, the shaft being rotated when the adjustment is to be made. The worm C, shown in Fig. 1 as applied to training-gear, is carried loosely on a shaft J, and is driven through pinions M, K, from a shaft M' connected with the training hand-wheel. The shaft J has eccentric journals D, D', and is rotated, to adjust the worm relatively to the worm-wheel, by means of a bolt J<3> shown in Fig. 3. The pinions M may be moved out of gear with the pinion K by rotating a nut M<2>.
