Abstract

Letter-spacing mechanism.-The swing of the loose escapement - dog 1 is limited for double spacing by a fixed stop 2, and for single spacing by an interponent 3 consisting of an arm which is secured to a rock-shaft 4. The interponent is swung into position by a handle 6, and is locked in either of the set positions by a blade spring 10, which engages flats on the shaft.
