8938. Akt.-Ges. vorm. Seidel und Naumann. April 5, [Convention date]. Back-spacing mechanism for machines provided with a folding paper-carriage. The backspacing key is connected with a rocking-lever or similar device arranged to engage with the backspacing mechanism when the paper carriage is turned into working position, and of sufficient length to remain in engagement when the papercarriage is raised for case shift. Fig. 1 shows the back-spacing key a connected by a link d to a bell-crank lever f, which is arranged to engage against an arm k on a rock-shaft i actuating a draw-rod n carrying the backspacing pawl. The draw-rod n is retracted by a spring and is provided with two stops cooperating with a stop on the carriage.
