18,584. Crossley, K. I., and Hutton, J. Aug. 6. Combinations of interdependent valves; regulating rate of flow.-A valve device for use in gas - engines comprises a gas throttle valve F of the double-beat type mounted on the same spindle as a cylindrical air throttle valve M. The valves are normally operated from a governor by a rod A, but the air-valve M can be rotated in its casing by hand, by means of a hand-gear U, V operating a disk G and rods P, in order to adjust the proportion of air to gas. The under-surfaces Y of the gas valves are curved so that, when the valve is nearly closed, the proportion of gas to air is reduced.
