Abstract

17,476. Harding, J. July 22. Folding seats; seat backs.-Relates to a folding seat adapted to be secured in any convenient manner to a perambulator. The seat a is secured in the horizontal position by hooks on the legs engaging in slotted plates k, Fig. 3, secured to the seat. The hinges b, shown in detail in Fig. 6, may be formed with a projection b<1> adapted to bear against the legs c when the seat is horizontal so that a slight pressure is required to bring the hooks j into engagement with the plates k. Fig. 9 shows a seat constructed as above and having a back-rest s supported on square portions of a bar p carried by the seat. The back-rest may be turned down into a vertical position for folding by sliding it off the square parts of the rod p. The legs g are sprung over the ends of the rod p.
