16,713. Fanning, F. July 26, 1909, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Propelling by steam and water jets.-An intake pipe 2 is connected up to the discharge pipe 14 of greater diameter by an ejector 6 comprising a reservoir 9 of greater diameter than the discharge pipe 14 and the mixing- chamber 11. A relief valve 24 communicates with the small cylindrical portion 13 of the mixing-chamber, and comprises a conical plug 24 resting on the corresponding seating 20 and controlled by an adjustable spring 26 mounted in the casing 30. The steam-pipe 15, which passes through the reservoir 9 and terminates in the mixing-chamber, is formed of the same external diameter throughout its length, but is internally thickened to form the nozzle 16.
