Mattresses.-In a spring mattress of the kind in which the end members of the mattress are held by brackets on the side rails of the bedstead, the brackets 11, 15 are slotted so as to fit on the heads 8 of the side rails, and are locked thereon by engagement with the cornersockets 9. Fig. 1 shows the brackets 11 which are adapted to hold down the mattress-bar 13, resting on the side rails 7. The brackets 15, Fig. 3, form bearings for the roller 12, which has a transverse recess 21 in which one end of the wire fabric is secured. Ratchet stretching- devices are applied to the roller 12.
