Abstract

Making lamps.-An apparatus for sealing stems into bulbs consists of a slidable table A, which is moved between burners L after the parts have been assembled, and there revolved until the seal is made, As shown, the table A carries a bulb-supporting ring B on three uprights, and is mounted to revolve on ball bearings in a bed H, which can be slid by hand in guides J<1> between the assembling and sealing positions. A rod E in the centre of the table supports a stem, and is pressed downwards by a spring against a bell-crank, bearing on an adjustable-screw. Sealing-burners L are adjustable similarly by a screw, operating bell-cranks. A friction wheel K revolves the table A during the sealing. The Provisional Specification refers to the use of two rough flames and four or more cutting- flames.
