9130. Smart, H. W., and Gann, C. T. April 15. Fastenings for sliding windows. - Relates to window - sash fasteners of the type described in Specification 5185/09. The fastener J<1> on the lower sash is combined with a series of notches J on the upper sash, and may be operated by a rod B. This rod may be locked by being depressed until the pin C thereon passes into a slot in a plate A on the sill, after which a quarter - turn secures both sashes to the sill. Otherwise, the end of the rod may be secured by a screw - clamp operated by a square key.
