Abstract

7845. White, C. March 31. Cylinders, construction of.-Below the mixture inlet valve 4 is a ledge 18 which facilitates mixing and serves to direct the charge on to the hot piston. The main exhaust port is shown at 19, the auxiliary exhaust port at 20, and the exhaust valve at 21. Exhausting through the port 19 keeps the upper face of the piston clean.
