Abstract

2508. Moffat, W. A., and Four Way Strap Co. Feb. 1. Strap fastenings.-A metal plate 1 of uniform thickness and of the shape shown has stainped out of it an aperture 3 of quadrant shape, a slot 11 and two slots 12, 13. The strap 14 is secured to the side 5 of the aperture. The package or the like is secured by passing the strap 14 round it, up through the aperture 3, bending it at right-angles over the curved side 8 to pass again round the package and up through the aperture and then be secured frictionally by passing it down through the slot 11. If only one turn round the package is required, the strap is passed up through the slot 13, instead of the aperture 3 and down through the slot 12 and then doubled under itself. The fastener may be constructed without the slots 12, 13.
