Abstract

Beetling.-Two fallers F may be employed, but there is preferably only one extending the whole length of the beam A to obviate the markings on the cloth caused at the places between adjacent fallers. The faller F is actuated by an eccentric E on the driven shaft; and the cross-head D' carrying the faller F is provided with end pins C' moving loosely in vertical guiding - slots in the end frames, so that an oscillating movement is given to the faller in addition to the reciprocating movement, and the oscillating movement causes a rotary feed-motion to be automatically imparted to the beam A. The beam is supported at its ends on spring-pressed resilient blocks, or on india-rubber or wooden blocks, in which case the springs are dispensed with.
