Abstract

72. Wrinch, B. T. Jan. 1. Folding bedsteads; drop-side cots.-Each end b, Fig. 5, of a collapsible cot or bedstead consists of a rigid frame hinged to one side a<1> of the cot or to the end post d thereof and pivoted at its centre f to rails e, g hinged to the opposite side of the cot. The mattress c, Fig. 4, is adapted to turn up against the side a<1>. The drop-side a is provided with pins j, Fig. 6, which slide in grooves j<1> in the end posts. The drop-side a is held in its upper position by a gravity catch or pawl k engaging with the pin j. The ends b and rails e may be held in position by friction or spring catches.
