Axial-flow type; reversing; rotors.-A compound reversible turbine has rotors b carrying blades f suitable for either direction of rotation, and a nozzle plate d at each stage provided with two rings of oppositely-directed nozzles d<1>, d<2>. The nozzles are supplied from chambers c<1>, c<2>, one set being for ahead and the other for astern working. The chambers c<1>, c<2> are opened or closed to steam by valves h controlled by a hand-lever on a longitudinal rockshaft. The rear ends of the blade spaces are partly closed by plates.
