Litters.-A stretcher is fitted with a respiration apparatus comprising a hood which is supported over the face of the patient by a frame and connected to an air regenerator. When not in use, the hood a, with the frame d in the collapsed position, is carried in a receptacle b beneath the stretcher, but when withdrawn it assumes the position shown in Fig. 1. The hood is held tightly against the body of the patient by elastic bands f, and the air is circulated and enriched in known manner by oxygen from a cylinder l, which withdraws the exhaled air from the hood by means of an injector n and carries it through the potash cells o where it is purified.
