Abstract

[Addition tu 8791/07.] Bottling.-Relates to bottling-machines constructed as described in the parent Specification, and consists in providing a valve in the filling-head to prevent exhaust gases from the snift chamber from blowing on to the water in the filled bottle and throwing it over. The valve f, Figs. 1 and 2, has two seats. During filling, it closes a passage m to the atmosphere, and opens passages k, l from the filling-head to the snift chamber d. During exhaustion of the snift chamber, the passage k is closed, and the passages l, m to the atmosphere are opened. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the valve is operated by the pressure of the gas, but in the form shown in Fig. 2 the valve is in two parts separated by a spring, and the passage to the atmosphere is only opened when a spindle o is depressed by a cam during the operation of the machine.
