Abstract

Bottling.-In a turn-over bottling-machine for aerated liquids, the' revolving frame h is fitted with a compression chamber i connected through a valve m<5> and tube n with the filling-head c. The bottle is placed in position, and the frame rotated until the valve m<5> is opened by a fixed cam o, thus allowing the compressed gas to pass into the bottle from the chamber i. The continued rotation of the frame admits liquid as usual, the excess of gas returning into the chamber i and escaping at the desired pressure through an adjustable relief valve j. The liquid supply and the valve m<5> close simultaneously, the bottle being finally snifted and removed as usual. The chamber i is fitted with a baffle-plate q, Fig. 5, to prevent any liquid from reaching the relief valve j and escaping while the air and gas are rushing into the chamber i from the bottle.
