Abstract

Bottling.-In a rotary counter-pressure machine for bottling aerated liquids, and of the type in which a ball valve is provided in the liquid passage to control the flow of liquid, the gas passage D is continued down through, a small port d to a chamber e around the upper end of the filling-tube E below the ball valve C in the liquid passage B, and the tube E is fitted with a conical seating e<1> around its exterior by which the passage e is closed by a rubber washer F. The washer F is conical internally and externally, and has an horizontal flange by which it is clamped in position by a screw cap G. When the mouth of a bottle is pressed against the washer F, the latter is lifted from the seating e<1>, thus allowing gas to pass from the pipe D around the exterior of the filling-tube E into the bottle.
