Abstract

27,431. Cox, J. Nov. 25. Drying yarns.-To maintain a vacuum in reserve in connexion with the vacuum boxes for extracting moisture from cops, cheeses, warps, cotton or wool, &c., two chambers J, K, Fig. 2, are exhausted, the larger J being simply connected to the smaller K by a pipe A<2>, and the smaller being connected to a pump by a pipe M and to a pipe A<1>, from which the pipes A from the vacuum boxes are branched. Cocks B, Fig. 1, are fitted to these pipes, and each vacuum box C is provided with a clack valve H for discharging liquor automatically when the vacuum is destroyed.
