Locking nuts.-In a nut lock of the kind in which a pawl lies in a recess in the nut, a pin is used to press between the pawl and one wall of the recess so as to move the pawl for locking or releasing. Fig. 2 shows the pawl B in the locking position; and Fig. 3 is a view of the pawl, showing the threaded face B<1> for fitting the bolt threads. To unlock the nut, the pin is passed between the recesses A<2>, B<4>. In a modified form, the recess B<4> in the pawl is in the opposite face, and the recess A<2> is not employed. The pawl is then drawn over into the locking position by friction against the bolt.
