Dviving-gear.-To avoid the ordinary deadcentres, and to increase the efficiency and power of a four-cylinder engine having a shaft 10 with cranks at right-angles, a similar auxiliary crank-shaft 16 is geared to the main shaft by wheels 18, 19. The cranks 11, 17 of the two shafts are driven from the piston rods 12 by links 14, 20.
