Carding-engines.-To prevent damage to the card-clothing of the worker c in a carding- engine which is provided with a breaker-roll b and burring-apparatus, the breaker-roll is covered with teeth which are arranged in rows, parallel to the axis of the roll or spirally round it, the spacing apart of the teeth being sufficient to allow the stones &c. to enter between them.
