Abstract

20,439. Grant, W. J. Sept. 7. Actuating valves; casings.-In a water-supply cistern to prevent overflow, the float F has an aperture J bv which, when the water rises too high, the float is waterlogged and caused to sink. A supplementary valve D is thereby allowed to close and cut off the supply. The float F is disposed in a separated section H so that in normal operation the main valve C is not lowered sufficiently to close the valve D. A chamber M and an outlet N are formed in the valve casing, the latter delivering on to the wall of the tank to give a silent supply. According to the Provisional Specification a cup is placed below the cock to act as silencer.
