Abstract
18,551. Easton, H. F. Aug. 11. Explosives. - Relates to blasting - explosives containing barium nitrate and trinitrotoluene. and consists in adding to these constituents aluminium, with or without dinitrotoluene. wax, potassium chlorate, and other bodies with known effect. An example contains barium nitrate 56, potassium chlorate 9, trinitrotoluene 12, dinitrotoluene 5, aluminium 13, and wax 5 parts. Preferably the trinitrotoluene should not exceed 33 per cent of the barium nitrate, and aluminium 20 per cent of the whole mixture.
