Abstract
16,681. Tarnow, I. B. P. von. Nov. 20, 1913, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Explosives.-Consists in mixing perchlorate of ammonia, aluminium powder, and a nitrohydrocarbon of the aromatic group, such as mono-, di-, and tri-nitro-benzene and -toluene, and tetranitro-aniline and -methylaniline. To such mixture the following substances may also be added, namely: nitro-cellulose or collodion, wood meal or cellulose, paraffin wax, and nitrates of barium and potassium. One example contains 40 per cent ammonium perchlorate, 9 per cent aluminium, 12 per cent trinitrotoluene, 9 per cent wood meal or cellulose, and 30 per cent potassium nitrate.
