[Cognate Application, 26,728/09.] Driving - arrangements. - In the driving- mechanism for rope-yarn spinning machines, chain gearing having special chains of the silent type is used in place of the' ordinary beltgearing. The chain is formed of links F, G, coupled by joint pins J and bushes L, M and provided with teeth I projecting inwards, the apex T of the space between the teeth being formed to serve as a contacting surface with the top of the teeth of the chain-wheel. The chainwheel A has its teeth turned off to form shoulders C to allow the side flanges D to be attached, openings U being left for the escape of dirt.
