Abstract
21,866. Lynn, G. C. A. Oct. 27. Treadle mechanism.-The driving- shaft of a treadle gear for bootfinishing machines, is rotated through the medium of two or more free-wheels or ratchet-clutches. The frame C carries the shaft A, at each end a<1> of which is fitted a free - wheel E. A treadle D drives, through a link f<1> and arm f<2>, a chain-wheel F to which is fixed a chain J, which gears with the wheel E and is fastened at its other end to a returning-spring H.
