18,069. Eady, T. A. C. Aug. 5. Stud-and-slot fastenings.-A fastening for necklaces &c. comprises an open-sided socket A having a transverse partition B, and a flat member C having a slot C<2> enlarged at C<3> into a square or other shaped opening. To engage the parts, they are brought together at right-angles, as shown in Fig. 3, until the partition B is in the enlarged part C<3> of the slot C<2>. The member C is then turned through a quarter-revolution so that.it is within the socket A. To prevent accidental disengagements through turning, projections D on the socket A engage indentations D' on the member C, or vice versa.
