Catches, automatic. - A catch of the spring tongue - and socket type for necklaces and bracelets comprises a plurality of spring tongue-andsocket elements each element being separately formed and having an independent action, the spring tongue 4, 5 thereof being constructed to act upon the opposite walls of its socket 2 so that the locking action of one tongue-and-socket element is unaffected by the other. The snap fastening for a necklace, shown in Figs. 2 and 3, comprises a member A with a spring tongue 4, 5 and a socket member 2, the other member B being similarly formed so that the snap fasteners on A, B interengage. The spring parts 5 of each tongue is notched at 6 into which snaps a shoulder 7 of each socket member 2 when the parts are engaged, stops 8 being formed on the limbs 4. The spring tongues may be formed on the member A and the sockets on the member B.
