Abstract

1266. Wood, W. H., and Beken, G. K. Jan. 26. Fastenings for jewellery and clothing.-Relates to disconnectible couplings of the kind comprising a member 5 having two outwardly projecting trunnions 7, and a member 6 having lugs 10 in which are sockets engaged by the trunnions, one lug 10 being provided with an opening 11 through which the member 5 can pass when turned to an acute angle with the member 6. According to the invention, to prevent accidental uncoupling even when the member 5 is turned to aline with the opening 11, a spring, or a movable detent 13 or other locking-device is provided on one of the trunnions or lugs. The device may be applied, for example, as a catch for bracelets, necklaces, or other jewellery, or as a fastener for clothing.
