Carburetting.-A carburettor comprises a tube provided externally with gills and internally with baffles formed with staggered holes to provide a tortuous path for the air and liquid to pass in opposite directions. The tube may be made up of a series of ribbed plates 2, alternate plates being formed with a depression 5 in which there is an opening 6, and the other plates having the parts 5 removed ; or a tube 16 may be provided with external gills 17 and internal baffles 18 formed with holes 19. The holes 6,19 are arranged out of line. Air enters the tube at 8 and liquid at 10, and the mixture passes through a further similar tube 13 and away by a pipe 14. Several such carburettors may be used in parallel.
