23,546. Burstall, F. W. Oct. 25. Carburetting.-The vaporizing-surface of a carburettor for petrol, paraffin, and other heavy oils, is of wire-gauze and is of a honey-comb formation. In the carburettor shown, fuel is admitted through the perforated pipes e, there being gauze cells both between the pipes e and the air inlet b<4>, and between the pipes e and the air outlet b<3>. The carburettor may be heated by the cylinder-cooling water or by the exhaust gases of an internal-combustion engine. -
