Catches, spring.-Sliding sashes provided with racks B on one or both stiles are held in any position by a curved spring E, secured to, and projecting through, a slotted plate D fixed on the frame. The catch is released by a lever F projecting under the curved part of the spring and pivoted at f to the plate D. Antirattling rubber pads n' may be provided on one of the sash stiles.
