Abstract

2096. Barbieri, L. Jan. 28. Vehicle windows.- Balanced sashes are operated so that the sash, in its raised position, is automatically forced over the weather-strip. The lower rail of the sash 7 is provided with downwardlyprojecting arms 9, to which are secured cords 11; which pass over pulleys 12, 13, 14 and are attached at opposite ends of a diameter of the spring drum 16, the sash being held in any position by a spring pawl 17 which engages with a ratchet-wheel on the drum, and is released by means of a sliding rod 20 with a finger-piece 21 at the side of the frame. The arms 9 project inwards away from the pulleys '12 so that, as the sash approaches its closed position, it is drawn over the sill 3 and the weather-strip 4 engages a recess 8 in the lower rail of the sash.
