Latches, sliding; emergency exit fastenings.- Follower-operated latches and bolts are actuated by pressing in the knob, the operating-device being applicable to ordinary and existing latch and lock spindles. On the spindle b outside the lock is mounted a sleeve a provided with helical grooves d, which are adapted to co-operate with projections j on the shank of the knob f. The knob is guided in a rose e, and is under the control of a spring s. The bar k, which is pressed in case of emergency, is pivoted near the hinge side of the door and is connected to the knob at g.
